FACING DOWN GOLIATH WITH YOUR TESTIMONY

“This day will the Lord deliver thee into my hand and I will smite  and take thine head from thee”

~1 Samuel 17:46

In the familiar story of David and Goliath, David was headed for a life changing moment in his life. The next chapter of his destiny. As usual every time we are headed for the next level in life we will meet challenges along the way.

For David, the Goliath challenge was not a hindrance, it was a means to an end. Tests and obstacles are actually a means for taking you to your next level.

I love two things that David said. First he said ‘this day, today’. Your next level requires a ‘today’ kind of mindset. There are things you have to do and confront today without putting them off another day. Procrastination is the graveyard where opportunities are buried. Secondly he said ‘I will cut off your head’.  At this time David did not have a sword in his hands, all he had was a sling. He spoke in faith. Faith is a fundamental requirement for the next level. Faith is seeing the invisible, faith is trusting that God will honor his word, faith is the currency of the kingdom. Faith speaks those things that are not as though they are.

Before David faced Goliath, he had to face too serious hurdles. Eliab his elder brother and Saul, his king . These two tried to discourage him from facing Goliath.

Eliab knew David very well, he knew his past and knew his weakness. Eliab represents those who constantly remind you of your past and tell you how you can’t succeed, they make it clear that you don’t qualify. These kind of people are everywhere. Their accusations are evil. Their goal is to diminish your well-being by attacking your identity, eroding any sense of wholeness you have. They are tormentors who delight in intimidating you with manipulation and control. They fight you with your past to keep you from your future.

Learn not to waste time arguing with the Eliabs. Just say like David, ‘is there not a cause?’

The second hurdle was King Saul. He represent the so called ‘experienced ones’. The ones that tell you ‘been there done that’ and it did not work. They say you are young, lack experience and how you don’t have what it takes. They explain how the times, the environment and the economy is not conducive. Their solution for you is to quit. The way you counter the King Saul types is to give them your testimony. David said ‘The Lord one time help me kill a lion and again the lord helped me kill a bear with my bare hands and the same God will help me fight Goliath’.

The  Bible in Revelation 12:11 says they overcame  by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony The most powerful tool of influence is your words. Words will create feelings, words create vision and words will creates worlds.

Become a wordsmith over your own life and speak positively today. Face your Eliab’s, face your King Saul’s’ and face your giants, do it TODAY!

See you at your next Level, the Lord is with you.
