Your Giving Made More Convenient

September 1, 2020The feeling of insufficiency is the bait that attracts anxiety.
Anxiety never finds expression until there is a situation that seems to defy your wisdom, pressures of life that seem to be insurmountable.
When all you have at your disposal doesn’t seem to have the capacity to respond to the need on the ground, your insufficiency becomes loud. Anxiety is no respecter of persons. As gallant as you may look, as fortified as you look, as educated as you are, as handsome or gorgeous as you are, you may look cool, calm and collected as much that your insufficiencies doesn’t seem to show until when a circumstance befalls you that you don’t seem to have the wisdom to tackle.
Anxiety creeps in and becomes operational.
Once your insufficiency begins to find expression and life pressures begin to unveil, anxiety finds that ‘unsettling’ a very good situation to latch on and it begins to show you how helpless you are even before you make an attempt.
Anxiety’s purpose is to make you give up, make you surrender, and finally make you develop a defeatist attitude. Anxiety sustained opens the door to suppression, repression and ultimately depression.
The bible gives us a recommendation in Philipians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
“.. Be anxious for nothing..” means let nothing bring you to a point where you find yourself in compatibility with anxiety, Giving yourself to prayer supplication and thanksgiving is the escape route.
Anxiety targets two things as Paul states in Phil 4:6-7 your HEART and your MIND, in other words; your Faith and your thoughts.
The heart is the place of believing, the place of Faith – Romans 10:10 “for with the heart a man believeth“. The thing about success or divine intervention is that If you have already lost the battle in your heart, there is no need to try to fight on the ground. So anxiety is a minion of the devil that is assigned to make us accept defeat even before a fight.
The mind is a place of creativity and productivity. As a matter of fact Peter calls it ”LOINS” OF YOUR MIND. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, 1Peter 1:13. Suffice me to say the mind must be barricaded because it is the source of your doubts, doubts come from the mind whereas faith comes from the heart.
The antidote for Anxiety as Paul said are 3 things: PRAYER, SUPPLICATION and THANKSGIVING.
The recommendation of prayer, supplication and thanksgiving will result in a peace that will do two things; guard your heart and guard your mind.. In other words the two main targets of anxiety will not be affected. Your faith will not be brought down and your creativity and productivity will not be overshadowed.
Job said it best in these three verses.
Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.
Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth.
The PEACE of God that comes as a result of making your request known to God is the remedy of guarding those two areas anxiety loves to attack. This peace of God is not logical, it supersedes understanding. This peace of God is superior to the pressures circumstances bring. It ushers in serenity.
That Peace comes as an umpire from heaven-to guard both your heart and mind.
That peace is what rules a christian, it is the currency of spiritual maturity in the midst of chaos. Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts“.
That peace speaks of victory beyond your current trouble. It suggests and settles down the truth that there is a better tomorrow. It brings rest and tranquility in the midst of upheavals and turmoils.
The peace of God in the midst of difficult circumstances is one of the indicators of SPIRITUAL HEALTH, a sign of maturity in the knowledge of your God. Daniel 11:32 “but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits“. YOU WILL BE STRONG. You can be victorious even if your situation has not changed, yet.
Apostle Paul writing to the Christins in Rome asked a question and then answered it himself . Romans 8:35 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Then he concluded and said “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us“. In other words you will be sure of your victory even when your situation has not changed.
It is important to note that thanksgiving is mentioned before the manifestation of the results. Thanking God before the manifestation of what you petitioned is an indication of faith in God that he will do what He promised.
The word of God has the remedy of anxiety. Nothing can override or match the potency and supremacy of the word of God mixed with faith by which all mankind is liberated. Anxiety is decimated by the light, the illumination, the knowledge, the revelation of God’s word
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:6-7.
