Shortcomings
“Shoulds, oughts, and musts” are deadly. Never judge whether or not you are authentic by how many times you have fallen short of what or who you think you “should” be.
When you look through the lens of should, ought, or must, you discover that even YOU aren’t perfect, and you’ll face feelings of shame and guilt, creating distress. All of which is unproductive. Shortcomings do not make you inauthentic, they make you human.
