The Remedy for Anxiety

September 19, 2020Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for FOOD….
The strength that drives us around is derived from the food we digest and assimilate. Life is Kept ‘alive’ by the food we consume. Jesus actually said he is the bread from heaven.
The story of humanity is about food, what we eat. As the saying goes, “we are what we eat”. Our dietary habits separate us into groupings and draw boundaries on which people we relate with.
Food does not necessarily imply what one puts in their mouth in terms of proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins. The sum total of what we allow into our minds and thought life can also be termed as food. Attitudes, values, emotions and responses are all received as raw materials and eventually put together by professional cooks to comprise a meal. In Fact this kind of diet is more crucial than what we eat. As we can see from above scripture what looks good is not necessarily nutritious. It could as well be junk.
The first man fell on a food related account. The second Adam, Jesus, won our victory over the enemy on a food related account too. In essence he was restoring in us all that God bestowed for our well being. What God had in mind for the first man was given back to us in Christ and this is what is termed as Good news. What Adam lost and forfeited, God passed it on to us in the redemption package. Though this is true and life changing, most people are misplaced and lost. The sad thing is most of them are God’s children. The issue is not their salvation experience – they are sons of the home. They are saved all right but they are not in touch with their prophetic destiny. This is just as good as being lost. They are so disconnected from what God configured them to be. A different programming has been allowed in their lives, a different DIET has been introduced in their lives, They have become a victim of the present earthly system and keepers of the status quo, they are slaves of pharaoh (self) and builders of his monuments and cities. The tree of knowledge of good and evil has become their constant diet. They are prodigals and are a long way from Home (Christ-likeness) The bulk of their focus is what they can get from God and not so much as why they are here. To them God is more of a laboratory species to be diagnosed and analyzed, there is no more life and meaning to all that is done. What once held the promise of fun and excitement has worn out and a gnawing hollow remains in the center of their being. The earthly and sensual wisdom that the serpent promised has turned out to be a total disaster. The kind of wisdom they have partaken from has ended in destruction. To fill up the hollow and void that now exists, they have to behave spiritually, must have a certain verbiage and behavior. Yet life is so empty and unsatisfying. We all know that there is nothing as terrible as pretense… it is living a lie.
Is there a way out? Absolutely!
The word of God is a diet that gives us access to the world of God. The word of God is the world of God.
We Can find our way back when we access God’s mind and dig out His original authentic destiny for humanity. Getting back to God’s diet is the only way. There are all sorts of voices that will seek to alter your convictions and passion in order to dissuade you from following after that which God desires of you from His word. Find His words and make them your diet.
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts ‘, Jeremiah 15:16 .
The psalmist wrote in Psalms 34:8, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him”.
Tasting has a way of triggering your sight, how you perceive things.
There is a process in consuming any diet… taste, chew, swallow, digest. For the purposes of space I will not write about all the different stages of the processes, but let me say a a word about the last process, DIGEST…
The end result of digestion is strength. If what we eat is from God, God’s domain goes deeper into our lives and we become more like Him and sooner or later we will be so incorporated with His elements until we are one with Him.
John 10:35, ” ….he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)”.
The Word of God you eat is also a seed, and soon you will influence many for the right reasons, you will become an evangelist of God. It is crucial to note that we are all evangelists even without our knowing.
2Corinthians 3:2, ” Ye are our epistles written in our hearts, known and read of all men”.
The common denominator of our lives is the power of influence either for good or otherwise. God’s word is a command and not a suggestion. Compliance to His word brings us to His world, His system. Imbibe the word of God, allow His word to be your diet.
Job 23:12, “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.”
